David Bowie is Hunky Dory.
http://sharebee.com/5c787922Click here for good times.
Because I'm pretty drunk right now, I'm feeling too lazy to write something witty or factual on my own , I decided to search the internet for a description of this album and all of the ones I found were so lame that I decided that I was just gonna go ahead and write something better...no matter how drunk I am.
Who cares if there's a posibility that I'll re-publish this almost four times in a row because I'm anal about spelling? Especially when I'm drunk?
Am I drunk right now? Yep.
Most of what I read was rehashed music journalist type nonsense:
Ambiguous, Fey, blah, blah
It's actually just a really good album to put your cool on the shelf for a minute and rock out to.
And there you have it folks!
The Black Keys are good!

My wife and I had the immense pleasure of watching Pat Carney and Dan Auerbach tear up a very small stage in Los Angeles once. After they played, like a goon I went up to them and had them sign my copy of Magic Potion. They were cool about it. They were also cool about the fact that in such a great big city, the turnout for their performance was definitely less than stellar. They gave 100%
Anyway, once we got home the first thing I did was grab my guitar, plug in my amp, place the knob on volume ten with the drive meter cranked up all the way and.....
...completely sucked in comparison to the guitar mastery of Mr. Auerbach. There isn't a modern guitarist I know of besides Jack White or a drunken Ben Wolcott that possess such shredding skills.
Download this album. It's called Chulahoma. It's a history lesson in awesomism!
Attention fellow music nerds: It's officially debate time...who is the greatest modern guitarist in your humble opinions?

Dr. Dog recommends using a toothbrush!
http://sharebee.com/5bb589bcClick here for the best nachos ever!
I love Dr. Dog with all of my heart and I sincerely hope you buy their t-shirts and go to their shows. If you haven't picked up their latest record, hit the little red X in the upper right corner of this screen and go get it. Lo-Fi basement songs for the discriminating listener.
I don't have too much else to say except maybe it's a good idea to get the bong from under the bed.
C'mon Mr. DJ, you ready for takeoff in the Airplane Man?

Somewhere on this blog I posted another Mr. Airplane Man record, Moanin'. I like that one more than this one, but I am mostly alone on that decision. According to the fans, this album is the keeper. However, just as Moanin' does, C'mon DJ instantly transports you to a bar somewhere in a real rough and tumble town. A bar where the pinball machine is always occupied by a greased up, leather wearing, dude that keeps his two beers on the glass top. He'll knife you if you get too close.

Isobell, oh Isobell
http://sharebee.com/ab60a2e9Click here to not mind riding your bike in the rain.
What can I say that you haven't heard about Ms. Campbell? We all know she was in the incredible Belle and Sebastian. We all know she had a bad breakup with the lead singer, Stuart Murdoch. We all know she put out a duets album with the gravel voiced Mark Lanegan. We all know she has a really pretty voice and an ability to write perfect pop songs. We all know she's Scottish.
What else?
Oh yeah, I almost forgot...she loves dogs!

Pre-Decemberists country vibes

In 1999, before Colin Meloy fronted the Decemberists, he and a few Montana friends were making music under the name Tarkio. The sound is pretty different from his recent material, leaning toward a more alt-country sound. That's not to say that "I guess I was hoping for something more" is a bad record. In fact, it's just the opposite. The hyper-litarism was just beginning to form and you could tell that his time spent going to school in Oregon made quite an impression on the young man from Misoula.
*This isn't quick work...unlike saying thanks.
