PP&M: See what tomorrow brings.

I was turned onto this particular record by a 6 foot, ukelele
playing former model. The lyrics below are from my favorite
song on it. Simple shit so don't fuck it up, dildo breath.

You know it's hard to love another man's girlfriend
You can't see her when you want to
You gotta see her when you can
We may be fighting a losin' battle
But havin' a lotta fun tryin' to win.

I thought it over from these points of view
One way love ain't no good for two.
We may be fighting a losin' battle
But havin' a lotta fun tryin' to win.

Here's my confession baby, I want you to take heed
From this day on darlin' you can do anything you please.

I asked my baby should I go away
Your man wants me to leave
Do you want me to stay?
We may be fighting a losin' battle
But havin' a lotta fun tryin' to win.

Here's my confession baby, I want you to take heed
From this day on baby you can do anything you please.

I asked my baby should I go away
Your man wants me to leave
Do you want me to stay?
We may be fighting a losin' battle
But havin' a lotta fun tryin' to win.

We may be fighting a losin' battle
But havin' a lotta fun tryin' to win.
We may be fighting a losin' battle
But havin' a wonderful time, wish you were here!

White Stripes Breakup Video LOL

This shit is strictly for the fans, but it's kinda funny.

And as a pretty good bonus... Eric Burden and The Animals: I know this song has been played to death, but there is very good reason for it, don't you agree?

Rodriguez.

Now, here's a little Detroit grown folk-pop masterpiece that was completely overlooked upon its release. Of course Rodriguez has always had a core group of followers, but while the Dylan's of the world became iconic, Rodriguez always came off like the drunk dude at the end of the bar. His presence started becoming known among todays kids when the Fresh & Onlys backed him on his 2009 tour.

Fun fact: After quitting the business, he had no idea that he went platinum in South Africa until his daughter found a write up on the internet.

Funner fact: Television's Mr. Rogers wore those cardigans to cover up a bunch of forearm tattoos he got while in the service. He has fuck New York written on his chest.

Disclaimer: I made up the part about his chest, but at least I succeeded at making you, a grown dude, think about an old mans chest. Ewww!

*She's only been awake and talking to me for less than five minutes and already I've been asked about why I didn't do this or do that etc; -Fuck. Boys, be careful who you marry...you may not be what they want.

The Sound of Fury

http://www.mediafire.com/?mj1tdtorrzg
Click here for that good guano.

The English call a bathroom a loo, cigarettes "fags", and have kings and queens instead of presidents. They also created their own version of Elvis and his name was Billy Fury. Hey, Elvis was referred to as the "King" so I guess our friends across the pond aren't too different from us at all. Put on this album whilst enjoying a pint and chant "Thank you... thank you very much" in a British accent as you shake your hips. You'll feel alright tonight!

Rolling Stones and Satanic Requests

Click here to get the smelly hand

"Hey Mick, I've got an idea."
"Yeah? What is it Keith?"
"Well, those mop topped buggers are getting all psychedelic and..."
"... and what, Keith? Are we supposed to compete with that?"
"Hell fuckin' yeah you big lipped bastard!"

And thus Their Satanic Majesties Request was born.

2000 Light Years from Home is the perfect song. Not kidding.

Wanda Jackson and Jack: His newest Loretta?

http://sharebee.com/e2b9be3f
Click here for motor home ugly.

So the latest news about Jack White isn't that the White Stripes will be playing again. Unfortunately, it isn't that the dreadful Dead Weather has disbanded. It's not about his collaboration with some R&B singer either.

Actually, depending on how you look at it, the news that he's going to produce old school and still kicking, Rockabilly gal, Wanda Jackson might be a good thing. I say might because some may be a bit skeptical as whether or not he can top his work on Van Lear Rose. This isn't to say that Wanda Jackson isn't incredible. She's as true as a pistol whip. It's nice to see JW is working with someone who can bring out the best in him.

As most of my readers know, he has been really freaking me out for a while now, but once again I'm going to have faith. I also hear that he trying to produce a Rolling Stones record...

I'm still hoping that him and Greg cartwright sit down for coffee someday soon.

Anyway kittens, here's a nice little Wanda Jackson album to get you acquainted with the woman who most people refer to as "The Queen of Rockabilly." She dated Elvis. I don't know why that's weird right now.

The Cobras - Your Love 7"

Click here for dog park romance

Attention: These cobras are not from Detroit.

Every once in a while I sift through my record collection and find a 45 that I can't recall how it got there. I pick and pick and pick my brain until I throw my hands in the air in defeat.

After this has happened so many times I've come to the conclusion that I either have a brain disorder where memories disintegrate and I only have 13 minutes to live or there is a Rock N' Roll record fairy that flies through your window at night to give all the hep cats great little garage records like this.

Honestly, you can't get drunk when you're dead, so for the sake of living life I'm going to stick with the more magical of my suspicions.

Originally released in 1966 by Big beat Records... please enjoy

Kurt Russell sings!

When he played Jack Burton in Big Trouble in Little China, he was a wisecracking, tough guy with a heart of gold. In Death Proof, as Stuntman Mike McKay, he was a fucking murderous badass. It's debatable if he can be considered a good or a bad driver because you could say that if he was a "good" driver if you wouldn't have to die every time you got into his car. But... tonight my friends, oh yes tonight...

...tonight you're getting the bubbleyum from a young Kurt Russell.
60's tunes for youth in bloom. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

The Headstones

Click here for winged feline droppings

Here's a vinyl rip from one of those nifty little Sundazed singles. This time you get The Headstones doing what pretty much every other 1960's garage band was doing... rocking the fuck out!

The A side is called 24 hours
The B side is called Bad Day Blues, which by the way will make you feel happy instead.

Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin: France 1969

Click here for penguin repellant and your binoculars back

I'm currently reading a fantastic book called "Youth in Revolt." It's about a teenaged kid named Nick Twisp. In the book he falls hard for a fancy pants little chick by the name of Sheeni. He meets her while on an unwanted trip to Ukiah, California with his mother and her trucker boyfriend. The boyfriend, being kind of a louse, puts up the family in a trailer park run by religious fanatics. While there, Nick meets the girl of his dreams and is taken by not only her beauty, but by her femininity and her propensity to use really big words. Personally, I think she's quite the little selfish cunt and if you've read the book you might agree. Anyway, Sheeni has a pretty hardcore fascination with all things French. She's also sexually experienced. This album is dedicated to them simply because I've been spending a lot of time with them lately. That is when I'm not hanging around a huge bottle of Gin. I don't know... it's a toss up.

This album, also known as "Je t'aime... moi non plus" was released in 1969 by real life lovers Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin. I don't have a clue what the hell they're singing/ talking about, but I'm guessing it's mostly about sex. I know a couple of Frenchmen that could translate it all for me, but instead I'll just cluelessly enjoy the total sound of it all. If you're not familiar with the sounds of France's swingin' sixties, here is a fine place to start. The first time I bought this album it was about 1996 and I was walking around downtown Manhattan smoking Gauloises. Man, I can be so fucking pretentious sometimes... there was even a period where I sat in a little cafe and ate nothing but fresh mozzerella  and tomato sandwiches. I used to look out the windows and then spit on them. Ah, I can barely remember all that.

Action with GuilloTEENS!

Click here to leave your lover.

Reigning Sound fans will recognize one of the songs on this record. Jessica Simpson fans will not listen to it at all. That being said, if you're here then it's safe to assume that you know a thing or two about rock n' roll.

Them again!

http://sharebee.com/01e9f8c1

Man, the sixties were probably thee most awesome time to be a fan of music. There were so many great bands that seemed to be popping up everywhere with that hip shakin' sound!

Them, fronted by a handsome, young Van Morrison, were akin to the Rolling Stones in a thousand ways. Some might go as far as to say why listen to both bands when you can just pick one of them?

The answer is pretty simple...why short yourself?

Now, be a good tot and say this prayer before bed tonight:

Lord, keep rock n' roll alive
I promise not to drink and drive
I wanna shake my ass, ok?
Pour a beer and let my records play.

After you're done, just sit back and wait for Heaven to come to you.

And for no reason...take this

Arthur Alexander is the ultimate!

http://sharebee.com/244e98c3

Arthur Alexander is one of those singers that you've heard a thousand times before, but didn't know it. You knew the songs, but you just filed them away as some northern soul that was on a compilation or something like that. The man had a voice like warm honey. Yummy...enjoy!

Fans of ex-Headcoatee, Holly Golightly, may recognize the last track on this album. It's called Black Night and she covered it really well on the Truly she is no other album.

You should go out and buy it. It's a good one for the record collection.

The Mystery Meat goes down swell

http://sharebee.com/f8bc31bf
Click here for a date with Samantha Micelli.

Once called "the rarest garage band in the world" by somebody Wikipedia can't verify, The Mystery Meat released this record, Profiles, which is their one and only release. They gained some local notoriety, but never really jumped off. I'm sure that's okay and the members went on to become the accountants of the early eighties, but damn if they didn't make a foot stompin' garage blaster to leave us with to remember them by!

It's safe to assume that since this album was released, approximately 300 joints were smoked by whomever was in earshot.

Lou Reed - Early recordings

http://sharebee.com/e8635d4e

Way before the Velvet Underground were the toast of the New York art scene, a teenage Lewis Reed was singing his little heart out with a band that called themselves The Jades. Two of the songs from this 7" were culled from those sessions. These recordings are actually quite good. Enjoy! Ripped for your enjoyment.

Los Shakers! Los Shakers! Urugray?

http://sharebee.com/2ab1fc1e

Click here for quirky dance instructions

I don't know much about this band, so in an effort to inform I present their Wiki page:

Los Shakers were a popular
rock band in 1960s and were a part of the Uruguayan Invasion. The band formed in 1963 in Montevideo, Uruguay. They were modeled after The Beatles and even adopted similar haircuts and clothing. The band sang many songs in English, despite their location, and gained their greatest popularity in Argentina. They issued their first single, "Break It All," in 1965.

Video of the Week! 2008 style..

Napoleon XIV - They're coming to take me away

This isn't the actual video for this song, but it's the best one I could find. This song, a novelty, was released in 1966 by Jerry Samuels, a one hit wonder who acidentally landed himself in the Top 5 of the charts that year.

When I was a kid, I'm now in my 30's, my mother used to play this 45 all of the time. So much that it became sort of the family theme song. I'm not sure if this explains the type of adult I've become?

The following was borrowed from Wiki:

Released on Warner Bros. Records, the bizarre depiction of mental illness became an instant hit in the United States that summer, reaching number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart.
However, it was highly controversial at the time. Some groups protested the apparent mockery of mental illness, while other groups attacked the apparent comparison of Napoleon's wife to a "mangy mutt". The protesters put pressure both on radio stations directly and on the stations' advertisers.[1] This was especially felt in New York City, where Top 40 stalwarts WABC and WMCA soon dropped the record from airplay and skipped it during their countdown shows, much to the confusion of the young teens who made up a large part of those broadcasters' audience. The record was soon banned from airplay at radio stations in a number of other markets as well.

As a bonus, courtesy of my friends over at Totally Fuzzy, here is a full concert from Glasgow band The View.* Sorry the content was deleted by a douche*

As you can immediately tell, they are not the clucking chickens that have an American TV show. If you are a fan of the Family Guy, then you know about the clucking chicken reference.
